I suspect it'll only be busy if you find other things to do.
(Both games were big disappointments.)

I found MOO III tremendously disappointing. I was a big MOO II fan. MOO III has
all the dynamic excitement of running a spreadsheet... 8-( >> Stay informed about: Everybody playing the new games, then? |

Actually, my big game the past week has been burning stuff onto
CD-ROMs so that I can clear space off my hard drive. That's not so much
fun, but it does have a certain satisfaction only conquering the world
from the Byzantine Empire can offer.

I don't know about that. I think a spreadsheet can be quite enjoyable
compared to MOO III. I think I'll have to start another MOO II game...

I've had my first taste of Hearts of Iron now, by the way. Just
a few months of 1936, so far. I don't quite know it enough to have much
of an opinion, except that I'm amazed to think that suddenly Europa
Universlis II seems to have a simple, straightforward interface.
I think I'd like it a bit more if I could replace the gunmetal
gray look with something warmer, though.

I started my first game (after going through the tutorials) playing Finland
starting in 1936. They've got a pretty good start on the tech tree, and have no
air force and only a few naval groups to worry about.
Not very exciting (if you're lucky the Soviets will ignore you, if you're not
lucky the Soviets will overrun you), but it was good practice. Got to December
1947 only losing three provinces. >> Stay informed about: Everybody playing the new games, then? |
