Hola -
Installed Panther today, and SimCity seems to work fine except that the
radius circle around the service buildings is not appearing. Anybody
have any ideas about that?
Thanks,

You are aware there are four simcities? Though I assume you have SC4, it
wouldn't hurt to be specific.

Strange: I upgraded from 10.2.8 to 10.3 and now I have entire
buildings which never appear unless my mouse cursor is over them.
I contacted Aspyr and they told me that it was a known bug in
the video drivers and would be corrected in a forthcoming
release. >> Stay informed about: SimCity and Panther |

Stranger Still: Aspyr told me quite that it was a known bug in the
video drivers, and that I was on my own as ATI and/or Apple would have
to provide the solution.

I experience the same on a dual 1.25 G4.
I got an email today (after filing a bug report 19 days ago) saying that
Aspyr is aware of the issue with SimCity4 and 10.3, and that they are
working on a patch. FWIW: I only have this issue on the dual 1.25 G4,
not on a 1GHz 12" PB G4 (also running 10.3).

The bug is related to the video driver. The two computers you've
listed have different video circuitry.
Interestingly, I read today that one of the major fixes in the
forthcoming 10.3.2 upgrade is related to the ATI video drivers. >> Stay informed about: SimCity and Panther |

I hope some of them fix problems that have been seen with Combat Mission.

But I wouldn't hold my breath. I somehow doubt Apple will really be
improving RAVE support at all.

I expect you are right about that, but I was refering to other video
problems players have experienced that are not related to RAVE. The
so-called "psychedelic colors" in CMBB for instance. Then there is the
"black box cursor" in the CMAK demo.

Erm ... this isn't about improving RAVE support. This is about
stuff that worked fine in 10.2.8 and didn't work in 10.3. >> Stay informed about: SimCity and Panther |
